Aims & Scope

The application of intelligent technology not only brings convenience to ordinary people in learning and life, but also brings well-being to special populations. In the field of special education, these technologies and applications have greatly improved the quality of learning and life of special populations. For instance, sign language recognition system can help healthy people communicate with deaf people friendly, intelligent braille conversion can help blind read and express, lip recognition can help pronunciation correction, facial expression recognition is mentioned in a variety of application scenarios, intelligent early diagnosis can detect and aid in the diagnosis of autism, and some physical rehabilitation classification and athletic movement correction also involve intelligent application technology.
Moreover, applying deep learning, virtual reality/ augmented reality, Big Data mining etc. are also significant for
special populations or rehabilitation. Again, more new intelligent technologies and their applications are waiting to be demonstrated and discovered. These technological advancements can be adopted not only for the scenarios mentioned above but also in specific contexts of learning and education. As one of the important branches, E-Learning is defined as a method of content dissemination and rapid learning through the application of information technology and Internet technology. Its tentacles also extend to the field of special education.
This special issue aims to collect the latest advances in every aspect of intelligent application in field of special education and rehabilitation, including intelligent techniques, methods, design and applications. Contributions containing new insights and findings in these fields are welcome.
