Sustainable Computing Solutions for Smart Healthcare towards Smart Cities: With a special focus on COVID-19 Pandemic Special Issue

  • Sandeep Kautish (LBEF Campus Kathmandu Nepal (APUTI Malaysia))+ BioDr. Sandeep Kautish is a seasoned academician and accomplished professor with over 16 Years of work experience including over 05 years in academic administration in various institutions of India and abroad. He earned his bachelors, masters in Computer Science and a doctorate degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Decision Analytics in Social Networks. He holds PG Diploma in Management also. His areas of research interest are Decision Support Systems, Business Analytics, Data Mining, and Information Systems. He has 40+ publications in his account and has published in reputed journals with high impact factor and SCIE/Scopus/WoS indexing. Also, he has authored/edited more than 07 books with reputed publishers i.e. Springer, Elsevier, John Wiley, Emerald, De Gruyter, and IGI Global. He has been invited as Keynote Speaker at VIT Vellore in 2019 for an International Conference held at VIT Vellore Campus. He filed one patent in the field of Solar Energy equipment using Artificial Intelligence in 2019. He serves on the Editorial Board of reputed journals i.e. International Journal of Decision Support System Technology (IGI Global USA), International Journal of Image Mining (Inderscience Publication) and Australasian Journal of Information Systems (AJIS) and Series Editor with CRC Press (Taylor & Francis Group) for Book Series titled “Advances in Informatics and Information Systems Engineering”. He has supervised one PhD in Computer Science as a co-supervisor at Bharathiar University Coimbatore. Presently two doctoral scholars are pursuing their PhD under his supervision in sentiment analysis area. He is a recognized PhD thesis examiner at various universities of repute i.e. Anna University Chennai, Savitribai Phule Pune University, M.S. University, Tirunelveli, Punjab Technical University, Uttrakhand Technical University Dehradun, etc. Presently he is working as Professor & Dean-Academics with LBEF Campus, Kathmandu Nepal running in academic collaboration with Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation Malaysia.
  • Pradeep N (Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology, Davangere, Karnataka, INDIA)+ BioDr. Pradeep N, working as Associate Professor , in Computer Science and Engineering, Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology, Davangere, Karnataka, India affiliated Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, Karnataka, India. He is having 17 years of academic experience which includes teaching and research experience. He has worked at various verticals starting from Lecturer to Associate Professor. His research areas of interest includes Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition, Medical Image Analysis and Data Analytics. He has successfully edited one edited text book, published by IGI Publishers, USA. Two more edited book is in progress. He has published more than 15 research articles published in referred journals and also one Patent application is published. He has guided more than 50 batches at UG level and more than 20 projects at PG level. Presently guiding TWO research scholars on Knowledge Discovery and Medical Image Analysis.

Obaid, is an creative lecturer at the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Computer Scinece and Mathematics, University of Kufa, a PhD in Web Mining and Data Mining from University of Babylon in 2017 and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of SIT January 2020, under advanced technologies in Web Mining Techniques and Applications. His main line of research is Web mining Techniques and Application, Image processing in the Web Platforms. Ahmed J. is Editor in OCS (Open COmputer Science, Scopus, WOS) Journal, Editor in KEM (Key Engineering Material, Scopus) Journal, Editor of MAICT-19 IOP jOurnal Of Physics, Scopus, ISSUE. An Associate Editor in IJAST Scopus Journal and Reviwers in many Scopus Journals (Scientific publication, Taylor and Francis, ESTA, and many others). He is leader of ICOITES, MAICT-19, MAICT-20 EVENTS. Ahmed J. has supervised several final projects of Bachelor and Master in His main line of work. He has edited Some books, has authored and co-authored several scientific publications in journals and conferences and is a frequent reviewer of international journals and international conferences.

  • Dr Rohit Sharma (SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Delhi NCR Campus Ghaziabad, India.)+ BioDr. Rohit Sharma is working as an Assistant Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering, SRM University, Delhi NCR Campus Ghaziabad, India. He has completed his PhD in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Title- Evolution in RFID Security to building it in the Global Environment) from TeerthankerMahaveer University, Moradabad,India, M. Tech (Communication Engineering) from Shobhit University, India, and B.Tech. (Electronics and Communication Engineering) from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, India. He joined SRM University in 2011. He has a teaching experience of over 11 years at SRM University and DewanV S group of Institution, India. Dr. Sharma is an active member of ISTE, IEEE, ICS, IAENG and IACSIT. He is an editorial board member and Reviewer of more than 8 international journal and conferences. He has published about 48 research papers in International/ National Journals and about 13 research papers in International/National Conferences. Dr. Sharma is serving as an editor in many books proceedings by Taylor & Francis, Willey, and Springer. Dr. Sharma has been the Editor to IEEE 2nd International Conference on Microelectronics and Telecommunication 2018 and IEEE International Conference on Microelectronics and Telecommunication 2016. Dr. Sharma has participated in many International and National conferences as Session Chair and member in Steering, Advisory or International Program Committees.
Aims & Scope

All the countries of the world are facing severe consequences amid Coronavirus
(COVID-19) and have emerged as a major threat to human society. Digital technologies can play a vital role in giving a fight back challenge to the pandemic by fostering data science; machine learning and artificial intelligence-based research. A digitally sound response to the COVID-19 pandemic can take numerous forms and have greater potential to enable Smart Healthcare towards the Smart Cities. In recent days, one important area where rapid developments have been recorded is new claims of sustainable computing, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). These techniques are not only helping in developing new medicines and drugs but also can help in the screening of the affected population and assessing infection risks.

Our aim and objective of initiating this special issue is to foster the researches in the
recent advances of Data Science and sustainable computing fields i.e. ML and AI
approaches that can help the community in combating COVID-19 pandemic and foster the path towards Smart healthcare and Smart Cities.
